(Leads: Liese, Marwan, Sami)
Time: 10:00–14:00 (with breaks) @ Meraki indoor theatre:
Welcome to the future.
A future where cultural resistance grows through solidarity rooted in land and sea. Where spaces and communities across Sicily, Amman, Beirut, Palestine, Tunisia, Berlin and beyond connect as a living network of care. Where decolonial practices, the arts, and knowledge exchange become infrastructures for justice, truth and survival.
We are not there yet.
Capitalism, authoritarianism, genocide and ecocide shape our present. We scroll through our phones, sharing posts of genocide, but too often we stop there. Performative activism replaces real solidarity. Communities are fragmented, burnout spreads, funding cuts deepen the crisis. Those most under pressure—queer, diasporic, refugee and displaced communities—are the first to lose access to space, while institutions retreat.
This workshop is a call to act. Together we will learn from community-led practices across the Mediterranean, unearth the toxins that block solidarity, and seed tangible steps toward reclaiming space, community and cultural resistance.
With contributions from the Palestinian Heirloom Seed Library, Sea Shepherd, In Place of War / EarthSonic, Turba Cultural Resistance and more.
